I am extremely passionate about Indigenous issues, and all facets of Indigenous struggles. I have worked in Treaty Land Entitlement and Specific Lands claims, which allowed me to gain invaluable knowledge of the legal systems for First Nation land claims in Canada. What inspires me is the passion that young that young people all over the world have for social change. Nelson Mandela once said that the world is hungry for action not words. Young people can remain an untapped resource if decision-makers do not integrate their knowledge, vision and experience. I believe a good leader is a person who knows when they need to take charge. At the same time, they can let other people take lead and work with them to achieve the common goal. Leaders must be tough enough to fight but tender enough to cry. Leaders must be human enough to make mistakes, but also humble enough to admit them. Leaders must be adventurous enough to get knocked down but resilient enough to get back up and keep on moving. The world needs leaders!!! ( read more)
